Who We Are
On a trip to El Paso, Texas, we walked across the Mexican Border
to Ciudad Juarez where we saw one of the saddest sights we had ever
seen. Enormous numbers of dogs and cats appeared to be living on
the streets in devastating conditions. We vowed to take action.
That was the beginning of Paws Across the Border, Inc., which has
evolved into a series of spay/neuter clinics in Ciudad Juarez. Two
were conducted in 2003 and a third occurred in March, 2004. Ciudad
Juarez has an estimated 100,000 stray companion animals. No local
spay/neuter programs have existed until now.
